Well, have you stopped in YOUR Veteran Resource Center yet?! If not, please do swing by Whitesitt Hall and see what's available for you. If you haven't seen the center, Pitt State has provided computers, a conference area, kitchen, and lounge area for you to use between classes. You'll be able to not only get some work done but, more importantly, meet your fellow Veterans in a space specifically designated for you!
Soon you'll be hearing about the upcoming meeting scheduled and we'll continue to look for and provide campus and community volunteer projects. Your service to your Nation is greatly appreciated and let's continue that service-minded thought process and when you can, volunteer to help others. I'd like you all to please think abouth the "Big Event" which occurs in the Spring - it is Pitt State's most significant, and certainly our largest, community service project. As a group, we could have a significant impact and help those within our community who need assistance with spring clean-up and other activities. If you get a chance, look up "The Big Event" and see what's done for our neighbors in need. When Student Activities initiates the "Big Event" website, we'll get it to you asap.
Finally, I hope your semester is going well. Competing priorities are always challenging but you're up to the task of deciding what is most important for your continued success; decide on what's most important and get after it. Look forward to seeing you soon!!

Federal and State Tuition Assistance options are available to qualified active duty members of the armed forces. TA is separate from FAFSA, but can be used in conjunction with this and other financial aid resources. However, TA is identified as the First Payer.
Request for Military Tuition Assistance may be initiated by the service member in their branch portal and approved by the ESO up to 90 days prior to the start of the semester, but no later than 2 weeks prior to the semester start date. Click on the appropriate branch above for application procedures.
Service members MUST receive approval from an Educational Services Officer or Military Service counselor PRIOR to enrolling in classes.
When receiving TA, you must fill out an Information Release For Students with Third Party Sponsorships form each semester and submit it to Lyndy Little in the Cashier's Office, or by email at llittle@pittstate.edu. This form allows her to submit an invoice on your behalf. This money is paid directly to the institution by the individual services.
