Student Veterans Organization
The purpose of the Student Veterans Organization is to provide a way for student veterans and military service men and women to promote the interests of student veterans on campus. They will also assist veterans in their transition to college, educate the campus and local communities about the needs and issues important to veterans and their families. If you would like more information, please contact Advisors Carol Meza at cmeza-bakke@pittstate.edu, or Chris Bakke at cbakke@pittstate.edu.
Federal and State Tuition Assistance options are available to qualified active duty members of the armed forces. TA is separate from FAFSA, but can be used in conjunction with this and other financial aid resources. However, TA is identified as the First Payer.
Request for Military Tuition Assistance may be initiated by the service member in their branch portal and approved by the ESO up to 90 days prior to the start of the semester, but no later than 2 weeks prior to the semester start date. Click on the appropriate branch above for application procedures.
Service members MUST receive approval from an Educational Services Officer or Military Service counselor PRIOR to enrolling in classes.
When receiving TA, you must fill out an Information Release For Students with Third Party Sponsorships form each semester and submit it to Lyndy Little in the Cashier's Office, or by email at llittle@pittstate.edu. This form allows her to submit an invoice on your behalf. This money is paid directly to the institution by the individual services.
