From general education to the university’s only doctoral program, the College of Arts and Sciences at Pitt State provides students with an exceptional education that prepares them for a variety of careers or further academic pursuits. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. The college offers over 50 undergraduate and master’s degree programs and PSU’s only doctoral program.

Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at Pittsburg State University! We are excited to share with you the many facets of our dynamic college. In keeping with the university's mission making lives better through education, we are actively engaged in teaching, scholarly and creative endeavors, and service to the university and its community, with excellence in teaching students being our first priority.

Dr. Chris ChildersThe College of Arts and Sciences is the largest and most diverse college at Pittsburg State University, encompassing the entire student experience from general education courses to doctoral study. Our four schools and the Department of Military Science offer more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Over 1,500 undergraduate students and over 225 graduate students call our college their academic home.

Our 125 caring, dynamic faculty are committed to helping students succeed. They are also accomplished researchers and creative talents. In our laboratories, libraries, and performance spaces, the College’s faculty are engaging in the research and creative activity they are teaching.
