The Jack H. Overman Student Center is the heart of student life at Pittsburg State — a place to eat, study, relax, or hang out with friends. It is a welcoming space built for connection, community, and getting the most out of your time at PSU.
Events & Reservations
The Overman Student Center provides a variety of rooms on its top floor that can be reserved by students, faculty, or staff for events, meetings, or gatherings. These spaces are designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, from small meetings to larger events. In addition to the private reservations, the Student Center also hosts open events in its common areas, offering a welcoming environment for all students to attend and participate in campus life. Whether for a formal event or a casual gathering, the Overman Student Center serves as a versatile hub for both reserved and open campus activities.
Eat, Study, Relax, have Fun!
The University Club, located in the basement of the Overman Student Center, is a favorite hangout spot for students looking to relax and unwind. It features two dining options, plenty of seating, a game room with pool and ping pong tables, a relaxation room where you can also kick back, and a mini theater where you can catch a movie. Whether you’re grabbing food, playing games, or just taking a break, the University Club is the perfect place to recharge and have fun on campus.
Campus Activities Center
The Campus Activities Center, located on the first floor of the Overman Student Center, is your go-to spot for getting involved at Pittsburg State. From joining student organizations on Gorilla Engage to exploring Fraternity & Sorority Life, volunteering, or building leadership skills through groups like Student Government Association and Gorilla Activities Board, there’s something for everyone. It’s a welcoming place to connect, grow, and make the most of your Gorilla experience.
SGA plays a pivotal role in advocating for the student body and allocating funds to clubs. They plan community service events to initiate positive change in Pittsburg, KS.
The Gorilla Activities Board plans a variety of engaging and inclusive on-campus events for Pitt State students. GAB offers unique experiences to gain leadership skills, have a voice in what events come to campus, and make connections.
