Welcome to Summer at Pittsburg State University! Whether you're a current PSU student or looking to enroll as a new student, we offer a variety of courses and programs to help you make the most of your summer.

Current Pitt State students can take advantage of our summer sessions to stay on track with their degree program or explore new areas of interest. With courses offered online and on campus, you can choose the format that works best for you. Plus, our summer sessions are designed to help you save time and money on your degree.

New students can get a head start on their PSU journey by taking summer courses before the fall semester begins. This is a great opportunity to get acclimated to the campus and meet faculty, staff, and fellow students. Plus, you can complete general education requirements or get a jump start on your major.

5 Easy steps:

  2. If you haven't yet, Apply for admission at Pitt State
  3. Enroll in classes
  4. Start your summer semester in May (intersession courses), June or July
  5. Check with Financial assistance office to see if you qualify for summer aid and/or scholarships

Enrollment Information

Enrollment Procedures

  • Step 1: Incoming freshmen, first time and transfer students: apply for admission
  • Step 2: Check out the courses available for Summer
  • Step 3: Meet with your advisor to receive your enrollment access number
  • Step 4: Once you have enrollment access number, log-on to GUS (Gorilla User System) to select your classes at your enrollment time

 

Incoming freshmen, first time or transfer student? You will first need to apply for admission into Pittsburg State University. Once your application is approved, you will assigned an advisor within your academic department and given full access to GUS (Gorilla User System).

New graduate student? You will first need to complete an application for admission with the Graduate and Continuing Studies Office, which is located in Room 112, Russ Hall. We suggest that you start this procedure at least one month prior to the start of the semester. Once your application is approved, you will be assigned an advisor within your academic department and given full access to GUS (Gorilla User System).

Tuition and Fees

Summer Tuition and Fees

Fees are charged per-credit-hour. We do not have a full-time student rate in the summer.

Your fees will be available online through your GUS account beginning May 1st.

If it is necessary for you to change your schedule after you have enrolled online, you may drop and/or add classes through the online enrollment system using your enrollment access number. Or, you may contact your advisor or the Registrar's Office for assistance in dropping or adding a course.

 

Additional information

A distance fee of $36.00 per credit hour may apply to classes held an extended distance from campus. This fee compensates for additional travel costs associated with the delivery of instruction.

TECHNOLOGY COURSE FEE:
A course fee of $24 per credit hour in addition to the above listed tuition fee, will be charged for all courses taught through the College of Technology. The general education course GT 190 Introduction to Technological Systems, 2 hours, is excluded from the fee assessment. A maximum cap of $180.00 per student/per semester will be collected for the technology course fee.

Gorilla Advantage
Students from the states of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee may qualify for Gorilla Advantage tuition rate which is tuition equal to in-state tuition and fees.

Late payments

A $30.00 charge is made for all insufficient fund checks. Tuition paid after the payment deadline will be charged a $50 late fee.
