District Leadership

Online Graduate Certificate

Gain the knowledge and skills to lead a school district to success with the District Leadership graduate certificate program. This 15-hour non-degree licensure program provides partial fulfillment of Kansas District Leadership License requirements. Students may apply all courses to the Educational Specialist Degree (EdS) with a General School Administration emphasis.

Admission Requirements:

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor's and master's degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in master's degree program
  • Hold a valid Building Administrator License

Procedural Steps for Certificate:

  1. Apply for the District Leadership Graduate Certificate through the Office of Graduate Studies
  2. Submit an Official Transcript
  3. Petition for completion of the certificate program during the last semester of coursework 

Students may enter the program in the Fall semester only.

Career Options:

Most graduates of this program serve as School District Superintendents or Assistant School District Superintendents. Other graduates lead educational organizations, both profit and nonprofit.
