Normal Academic Load/Course Overload Policy

Applies to: Pittsburg State University students.

Policy:

The typical course load for a full-time undergraduate is between 15 and 18 semester hours in a regular semester. An undergraduate student who wishes to enroll in more than 21 hours must have demonstrated solid academic achievement (normally a 3.00 cumulative GPA or above) and receive special permission from their dean. Graduate students taking more than 16 hours will require special permission from their dean.

Summer full-time enrollment for undergraduate students is 9 hours and for graduate students is 6 hours. Overload permission is required for more than 16 hours for undergraduates and 12 hours for graduate students.
