Shelby Hutchens


About

Shelby Hutchens, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor – teaching classes in the recreation, sport, and hospitality management emphasis area. Dr. Hutchens earned his Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University (2016) and his M.Ed. (2018) and Ph.D. (2021) in Health, Human Performance, and Recreation with an emphasis in Recreation and Sport Management.

He has previously been heavily involved in the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society’s high school fishing effort, serving as a mentor and coach for teams in Arkansas and Texas. He is an avid outdoorsman and tournament angler, but also enjoys tennis, golf, and weightlifting.
