The Technical Teacher Education (TTED) program at Pittsburg State University (PSU) strives to provide quality opportunities in the development and growth of competent Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers. The coursework is specifically geared toward assisting CTE teachers in acquiring their professional education skills and credentials.
Two levels of certificates are available in the Technical Teacher Education program to enrich the professional development of industry specific instructors. These stackable credentials provide flexibility in the courses individuals select based on personal preference. Each certificate requires 15 credit hours selected from the listed courses. These courses can be transferred into the Associates of Applied Science in Career and Technical Education or the Bachelor of Science in Career and Technical Education.
Note: To align with the Kansas State Department of Education CTE certificate regulations, there are 10 specific courses required. Contact the program coordinator for clarification.
Coursework in the TTED program is designed for working professionals unable to attend face-to-face classes. Content is delivered 100% online in both synchronous and asynchronous format. Synchronous courses meet 1-4 times in a semester on either a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm (Central Time Zone). All courses are facilitated in the Pittsburg State University learning management system, Canvas.
