Please note, that you should make sure to transfer all necessary and appropriate files from your University Office 365 account to your personal account prior to leaving the University.  Contact the Gorilla Geeks for directions on how to do this.

Student Office 365n Accounts:
All PSU students receive a @gus.pittstate.edu (gmail) account that is their official PSU email account. This account is hosted by Microsoft Outlook and is yours as long as you are a student at PSU.  It is the official email account that PSU will use to communicate with you.  Upon leaving PSU or graduating, you will have 6 months to migrate all of your information from GUSMail to a personal email account.
All PSU students receive an Office 365 application account.  Students retain this account for 6 months after they are no longer enrolled in a class and are responsible for moving any documents, photos, etc that they want to retain to a persona account or drive.

Employee Office 365 Accounts:
All PSU employees receive a @pittstate.edu (MS O365 Outlook Email) account that is their official (work) PSU email account. Along with this, they receive all MS O365 applications.  Employees lose their access to both work email and all applications in Office 365 on their last day of employment.  These account names are archived in the event that an employee returns to PSU.  Supervisors of those leaving receive a notice allowing them to access account information for a designated time beyond the employees departure to ensure continuity of operations.

It is critical that we keep the PSU environment as secure as possible given the critical data stored in university systems. Therefore, access to third party apps using PSU credentials is not permitted.  Using a personal email account ensures you don't lose access to the app once you are no longer affiliated with PSU.  If there is an app that needs to be integrated into our PSU environment, please submit a ticket to support@pittstate.edu.  In the ticket, please provide a detailed explanation of why the app is necessary and why it requires the use of your PSU credentials. An ITS Team member will respond to let you know the findings regarding your request. Thanks in advance for your help in keeping the PSU IT environment as secure as possible.
