Master of Music in Performance

This graduate program provides opportunities for singers and instrumentalists to hone their skills and advance their knowledge for collegiate-level teaching, private studio instruction, professional ensemble membership, and much more.

Graduate students in this course of study will enjoy numerous opportunities for performance experiences in solo and chamber contexts and in large ensembles. Students will also continue to develop their skills in the areas of research and scholarship.

Admission Requirements:

  • Meet Pittsburg State University Entrance Requirements
  • Audition and Interview 
  • Complete Diagnostic Exams in Music Theory and Music History

Wind, String, or Percussion Performance Career Options:

  • Professional Instrumentalist
  • Studio Teacher
  • Preparation for pursuing a doctoral degree or other advanced training

Vocal Performance Career Options:

  • Professional Singer
  • Studio Teacher
  • Preparation for pursuing a doctoral degree or other advanced training

Organ, Piano, or Harpsichord Performance Career Options:

  • Professional Instrumentalist
