Master of Music in Conducting

Further develop your skills as a choral or instrumental conductor with a Master of Music in Conducting. Students participate in classroom and studio work and have training opportunities for supervised hands-on rehearsal time with PSU ensembles. The final component of the program is the performance of a full recital. Preparation includes the research and selection of all repertoire prior to rehearsals with the appropriate ensemble.

This program has the flexibility to meet the needs of conductors who plan to work with ensembles of various types: community organizations or school ensembles at any level.

Admission Requirements:

  • Meet Pittsburg State University Entrance Requirements
  • Audition and Interview 
  • Complete Diagnostic Exams in Music Theory and Music History
