A Spanish minor provides students with a strong foundation in the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.

It can complement a variety of majors and prepare students for careers in translation, education, international business, and more. 

Unique Class Topics in the Business Administration Minor:

  • Spanish Language and Culture I: Develop foundational skills in Spanish language and explore aspects of Hispanic culture through interactive activities and assignments.
  • Spanish Language and Culture II: Expand proficiency in Spanish language through immersive experiences and deepen understanding of Hispanic cultural practices and traditions.
  • Spanish Language and Culture III: Refine language skills and cultural understanding through advanced language exercises and in-depth exploration of Hispanic societies and customs.
  • Spanish Composition and Conversation I: Enhance written and oral communication skills in Spanish through composition assignments and conversational practice.
  • Readings in Hispanic Literature and Civilization I: Analyze literary texts and cultural materials from the Hispanic world, examining themes, styles, and historical contexts.

Prior Language Experience

The Modern Languages Retro-Credits Program rewards students for significant prior language experiences, such as high school coursework or language spoken at home. Students who desire credit for language proficiency they acquired before coming to Pitt State should consult with the Modern Languages faculty.
