About Dr. Matthew Tarpey

Dr. Matthew Tarpey is an assistant professor of political science in the School of History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences at Pittsburg State University. He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from the College of Charleston. His teaching and research interests are in the fields of American political institutions and American political behavior. His current research projects examine how legislative success and elite positions on legislation impact public attitudes towards elites, views about public policy, and electoral outcomes.
