Living on campus allows you to fully experience life at a university. You’re steps away from your classes, have easy access to university support services such as the Bryant Student Health Center, Axe Library and Overman Student Center, and can easily attend the many athletic and entertainment activities on campus.

Our affordable rates include all utilities, hi-speed internet access, a parking pass, cleaning services for the restrooms and common areas, resident assistants on each floor, food services and much more. Take a moment to read our 2022 face mask policy, or find it at pittstate.edu/coronavirus. 

If a student who resides in University Housing tests positive for COVID, that individual should contact the Housing Office (if this occurs after 4:30pm on weekdays, or anytime over the weekend, please contact your RA) with the following information:

Date test was administered

Housing location (Bowen, Trout, Willard, Commons, etc)

Roommate Name (Not necessary if the resident currently lives in Crimson Commons, or if the resident is in a single room)

Your information will be collected and someone from University Housing will contact you with additional information.

Gender Inclusive Housing

Gender Inclusive Housing Assignment (GIHA) is defined as a housing option in which two or more students share a multiple-occupancy space, in mutual agreement, regardless of the students’ sex, gender identity, and/or gender expression. GIHA placement will primarily be in Crimson Commons Building A and some limited spaces in Willard Hall.

Gender Inclusive Housing is open to any student who wishes to be housed in a gender-inclusive environment, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. I identify as LGBTQIA+ but I want to live with someone who is not.

Yes. GIH should be a place where LGBTQIA+ residents can be comfortable living authentically, and sometimes that means living with a friend who isn’t LGBTQIA+. We ask that anyone living in GIH joins us in celebrating LGBTQIA+ identities and recognize that outreach and programs in this community will be tailored to that population.

Rates for gender-inclusive housing are the same as other student rates.

Gender Inclusive Housing is not part of a learning community. There is no academic component or requirement for living in the gender-inclusive housing option.
Students in GIH who do not identify roommates will be assigned roommates who have also selected to live in gender-inclusive housing. Unfilled spaces will not be filled with students who have not requested to live in the GIH community.
Yes, if space is available. The process for changing rooms is different before and after move-in. Please contact University Housing before move-in to request a change. After move-in, there is a room change request process found on our website.
