Overview

The Hospitality Management minor provides students with the skills needed to be professionals in the hospitality field. Students completing this minor will be able to plan, execute, and evaluate events and meetings as well as begin the management track in casinos, resorts, spas, and other related travel and tourism enterprises.

This minor complements many majors. Professionals may find themselves in a position in which they need to plan events and meetings or make travel accommodations for their place of work. Students may take this minor if it meets their major program's minor requirements.

The hospitality industry, from planning events to providing travel and tourism services, is a diverse field. Some examples of job titles include hotel administrator, cruise director, event director, hospitality director, special event coordinator, and museum director.
