Commencement ceremonies planned for Friday

More than 450 students are expected to participate in Pittsburg State's Fall Commencement on Friday, Dec. 14.  

Two ceremonies will take place: one for graduates in the College of Education and College of Technology at 5 p.m., and one for graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences and Kelce College of Business at 8 p.m.  

Both will be held in the John Lance Arena of the Weede Physical Educational Building. And, both may be viewed live from 5 to 98 p.m. via pittstate.tv. 

Faculty and administration will participate, including President Steve Scott, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Lynette Olson, and Regent Shane Bangerter, vice chair of the Kansas Board of Regents. 

In addition to the on-campus graduates, nearly 50 Gorillas from around the world will celebratcompleting coursework through one of PSU’s many online programs. 

Families and friends are encouraged to take part along their graduates in the ringing of the Centennial Bell at the southwest corner of Axe Library. The bell will be available for ringing from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
