Solo and Chamber Music Series

Forward!

Our 2021-2022 Season marked the beginning of a return to live performances on campus. We began the season with cautious optimism about our ability to host all six concerts following a year of paused musical gatherings, and we were thrilled to find that we could reach our goal. With the arrival of the 2022-2023 season, we hope that we are headed forward in our restoration of comfortable concert protocols. As always, we have made arrangements to present outstanding artists who will bring exceptional performances to the stage of McCray Hall’s Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall on six Friday evenings across the academic year.

The season will open in September with an interesting and creative program by the string trio, Black Oak Ensemble. In the month of October, our Fisk Opus 106 organ will be brilliantly demonstrated by organist Joseph Adam, director of music at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. The fall season will conclude in November with an innovative percussion performance by the arx duo.

Immediately upon our return to campus in January, we will host trombonist Peter Steiner, an extraordinary artist who has been hailed as "a new trombone star within his generation." In February we will present the award-winning Calidore String Quartet. We'll bring the season to a close with a highlyanticipated program of music by women composers, titled Web of Lace, featuring the Boston-based Tapestry Ensemble.

We are more than ready for this renewal. We know that you are, too. Please join us for all six concerts!

All performances at 7:30 p.m., in the Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall on the PSU campus.
