About Kristen Livingston

Ms. Kris Livingston joined the Pittsburg State Department of Communication in the fall 2016. She has worked at Pittsburg State University as the Assistant Director of Student Diversity advising and supporting domestic minority groups. Prior, she was an Assistant Professor of Communication from 2009 to 2015 in the Department of Communication for Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.

Ms. Livingston has served as Broadcast Faculty at KGCS-TV Digital Channel 22 and as an advisor to various student clubs and affiliations. Most recently, she presented at the University of South Florida on “Gender Effects on Pet Loss and Social Media Narratives.” She has been awarded Teacher of the Year for her service to students and education. She specializes in gender communication and diversity in communication.

Outside the classroom, Ms. Livingston enjoys watching movies, singing at the top of her lungs along with her record player, playing with her dog Mojo, lifting weights, and the great outdoors.
