Marketing Association (Inactive)

The Marketing Association at Pittsburg State University is a student organization that aims to enhance marketing education through a number of group activities, events, networking, and field trips. The association is governed by student officers, including a president, a vice-president, a secretary, and a treasurer. The group is advised by a marketing faculty member.

One of the primary focuses of the Marketing Association is to supplement classroom education with a variety of hands-on experiences for students. In order to get hands-on experience, the group participates in two field trips during the academic year. The group has traveled to several locations over the past few years, including Kansas City, Arkansas, San Diego, New York, Dallas, Phoenix, Boston, and Chicago. From these field trips, students gain insight into how marketing activities take place in organizations. Students do different types of fundraising activities in order to fund these educational trips.

In addition, Marketing Association also participates in different types of community service activities, such as helping local businesses promote their products, “Big Event,” and “Adopt a street”. Students have the opportunity to join professional organizations such as the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science.
