WHO QUALIFIES

If you are a Missouri resident who owns or leases a passenger vehicle, truck, RV or motorcycle registered in Missouri, you qualify for a Gorilla License Plate. The educational license plate program provides two plates per vehicle.

EFFECTIVE DATE & RENEWAL

The Gorilla License Plate is valid for one year based on an annual renewal of the plate through a $30 gift to PSU and a $15 fee to the state. For two-year renewals, a gift of $60 to PSU and a $30 fee to the state is required.*

*If your vehicle was manufactured in an odd year, and you are receiving your plate in an odd year, then you may renew for two years. If your vehicle was manufactured in an odd year, and you are receiving your plate in an even year, then you may only renew for one year. If your vehicle was manufactured in an even year, and you are receiving your plate in an even year, then you may renew for two years. If your vehicle was manufactured in an even year, and you are receiving your plate in an odd year, then you may only renew for one year.

RECEIVING YOUR PLATE

You may order a tag at any time by contacting Alumni & Constituent Relations first before proceeding to your county office. After you receive your Emblem Use Authorization Statement from our office, you can take the form along with the 1716 form to the county vehicle office. The state is going to charge $15 per year for your personalized license plate.

FEE PAYMENT & VOUCHER

To receive your plate, you have several options:

1.  Click here to make a tax deductible gift of $30 to Pittsburg State University.

  • Option 1 - $25 to the PSU Alumni Legacy License Plate Scholarship fund and $5 towards administrative fee.
  • Option 2 - $25 to the department of your choice and $5 towards an administrative fee.
  • Option 3 - You have already made a gift of $30 to PSU within 12 months of this request.

After you choose an option online, our office will mail the Emblem Use Authorization Statement (EUAS) to take to your county vehicle office.

2.  Call our office at 620-235-4758 or 877-PSU-ALUM, and we will process your $30 payment over the phone. We then mail the EUAS form to you to take to the county vehicle office.

3.  Print this form, write a $30 check to PSU, denote what department/scholarship/etc. you want your $30 to go in the memo, and mail your form to Wilkinson Alumni Center, 401 E. Ford Ave., Pittsburg, KS 66762 or fax it to 620-235-4949. Once we receive your form, we will mail your EUAS form back to you within 2-3 days. You can then take the form to the county vehicle office.

PERSONALIZATION

The State of Missouri requires you to personalize your license plate on the 1716 form. This must be completed before going to the county vehicle office.
