Today’s global marketplace requires professionals who understand and can collaborate with partners throughout the world.

The goal of the International Business major is to provide high-quality, in-depth education in international affairs, to cultivate foreign language and inter-cultural communications skills, to provide opportunities for study abroad, to enhance students’ skills in an increasingly interconnected world, and to provide an intellectual climate that cultivates curiosity, tolerance, and an eagerness to learn about the world.

An International Business degree from Pittsburg State’s Kelce College of Business will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to compete in today’s world of business.

Our International Business program allows students to develop and understand business tactics and strategies as they relate to a changing international marketing place. All courses are taught by business professionals in settings that encourage individual excellence and collaborative achievement. Setting this program apart from others is its requirement that students take part in an international experience. Our faculty will help you develop a plan that fits your career goals. Study abroad trips, international internships, and exchange programs in locations such as Brazil, China, Finland, France, Korea, Paraguay, and many other locations are available.

The Kelce College of Business is host to the student organization known as Enactus. This community of student, academic, and business leaders provides you with an extraordinary opportunity to apply business concepts in a meaningful and competitive manner. Pittsburg State’s Enactus team project was named “Best in the Nation” at the 2017 Enactus U.S. National Exposition.

International business majors are often recruited for management positions. The median annual wage for management professionals is $100,790 per year according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Employment is expected to grow 6 percent between now and 2024.

Students will have many opportunities for internships and research. Recent international internships and study abroad programs have allowed students to gain educational experience in locations such as Brazil, China, Finland, France, Korea, and Paraguay.
