Enter the workforce as an educator with licensure in several K-12 subjects. Pursue your Bachelor's in Education in one subject, while preparing for additional Physical Education licensure. This minor is perfect for students who plan to earn their teaching licensure in:

Through the Physical Education minor, learn about assessment plan building, understanding national and state standards within physical education, and creating physical education programs.

The courses that comprise the minor will educate you on how to teach, plan lessons, and develop resources. You will also learn about emergency care and safety.

About Health, Human Performance, and Recreation Department


The Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation (HHPR) is located in the Student Recreation Center. The HHPR faculty possess a wide array of specializations. The department offers undergraduate degree programs in Exercise Science, Recreation Services, Sport and Hospitality Management, and Physical Education, seven minors and certificates in Dance, Coaching, Exercise Science, Hospitality Management, Parks and Recreation, Sport Management, and Therapeutic Recreation, as well as a graduate program in HHPR. Within each of the degree programs, there are emphases/concentration areas from which students select the professional paths that best fit their needs.
