Partnerships and Outreach

Our mission

Pittsburg State University recognizes there are limited and finite resources here on Earth. With this knowledge, we are committed to establishing sustainable practices and socially responsible choices for our students, university, and community.

More than "green"

Our goal is to engage our students and broaden their horizons to the possibilities of conscious sustainable living, empowering them to develop sustainable practices in every aspect of life.

Change starts with us

From daily campus operations to academic programs, sustainability is present on campus. The impact doesn't stop there; partnerships and outreach spread our sustainability mindset even wider.

Pursue sustainability in education

An interdisciplinary major, Sustainability, Society and Resource Management prepares students for dynamic careers in resource management, conservation, environmental protection, risk and crisis management, and public relations. The major includes courses in biology, communication, and social science.

What is Sustainability?
Sustainability is more than thinking "green," but is a social, economic, and environmental question.
