Global Leadership Institute

WHAT IS THE GLOBAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE?

Created in 2011, the Global Leadership Institute (GLI) at Pittsburg State University (PSU) is a series of internationally-focused leadership seminars. This program is free for PSU students. GLI cultivates cultural awareness, promotes diversity appreciation, and actively advances student engagement in the community. Student participants will attend interactive workshops that teach global leadership and promote cross-cultural dialogue. The first of its kind at PSU, the Global Leadership Institute provides students an opportunity to develop awareness, knowledge, and skills required to live successfully among diverse populations.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The Global Leadership Institute is intended for currently enrolled PSU students who are interested in gaining international experience and learning more about the world. Student participants must attend the Institute’s five seminars and external requirements. Students who complete all requirements for the Global Leadership Institute will be recognized at the end of the semester at a banquet where they will receive their certificate.

GLI’S INTENDED GOALS

  1. Develop a global leadership perspective.
  2. Communicate and receive information effectively in domestic and international settings.
  3. Address issues of social concern and examine solutions for positive change.
  4. Attend international activities on campus and in the community.
