Ticket office busy with regional and national events

If anyone believes there isn’t anything to do in Pittsburg, they should have a talk with Jill Minneman.

As Director of Ticket Operations at Pittsburg State University, Minneman is on the front line when it comes to activities on campus, and right now, her calendar is full.

“These may be the two busiest months of the year for our office,” said Minneman. “We have 14 performances scheduled at Bicknell Center, six basketball games at John Lance Arena and five track and field competitions at the Plaster, including two conference championships and four national championships. Busy may be an understatement. Thankfully, our student staff is up to the challenge.”

But as Minneman is quick to point out, this is a good kind of busy.

“It’s exciting to host events of this size on our campus,” said Minneman. “It really wasn’t that long ago that Pittsburg was missing out on these types of events because we didn’t have the facilities. Now, that we do have them, we aren’t taking it for granted.”

Tickets to the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships went on sale Thursday, as did tickets for the NAIA Track and Field National Championships and the MIAA Conference Championships.

Also now on sale, are tickets to the MIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Post-Season Tournament at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. Although fans can purchase these tickets the weekend of the tournament, Minneman said buying them now can result in a big savings.

“You can get all-session passes to the post-season tournament for just $50 if you buy them at our ticket office,” said Minneman. “If you wait until you go to Kansas City, they’ll be $65 for all-session passes. So you’ll not only be supporting Pittsburg State, you’ll also be saving money.”

Tickets for all events can also be purchased online at Discounts are available for students, children and seniors. Full pricing and event details are available online as well.
