University Development at Pittsburg State has added a new member to its team.
Becky May has joined the development staff as Director of Donor Relations, a position formerly held by Jolene Selvey, who retired this spring. In her new role, May is responsible for the university's donor-centered stewardship program, which acknowledges, recognizes, and communicates to donors the impact of their investment.
"Becky possesses skills and traits that made her a great choice for this position," said Dr. Brad Hodson, vice president of University Advancement and interim director of University Development. "She has the ability to establish rapport with donors, cultivate and maintain relationships, and take this role to a new level. We are very happy to have her working in this important position."
May worked for the past three years in PSU's Office of Public Relations as the assistant director for publications and special projects. She graduated from PSU with her bachelor's degree in 1997 and her master's degree in 1998, both in communication.
A native of Cherryvale, Kan., she is an active member of the Pittsburg Noon Rotary Club, Pittsburg Family YMCA Board of Directors, Pittsburg Area Young Professionals and P.E.O. Chapter IO.
"I am excited to be serving the university in this role," May said. "The relationships we've built with our constituents has helped develop Pitt State into a great institution and it's exciting to be a part of that process."
May lives in Frontenac, Kan., with her daughters Lydia, 6, and Emilee, 4. She can be contacted at 620-235-4756 or email@example.com.
