Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for creating the first Club Sports Program at PSU. The chosen candidate will be responsible for creating the structure and daily operations of this program. The main purpose of the program will be to provide leadership/mentoring to the student organization leaders/officers and to keep consistency and structure for the program so it can continue to grow and give current and future students the opportunity to continue competing after high school at the college level without the heavy time commitment of a varsity program. Club Sports Programs have documented success in regards to recruitment and retention.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to Recreation, Sports Administration, Health/Physical Education, and Student Personnel Management.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of professional experience in Campus Recreation working with Sport Clubs or Competitive Sports Programs.
  • Certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid or American Heart Association.
  • Involvement with NIRSA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Recreation, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of professional or graduate school experience in Campus Recreation directly working with sport club/competitive sports program preferred.
