Dr. Cameron has been a faculty member in Pittsburg State’s Social Work Program since 1987 and served as the Director of the Program until stepping down in August of 2014. Prior to coming to Pittsburg State, Dr. Cameron practiced social work predominantly in substance abuse and mental health settings.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities in the Social Work Program, Dr. Cameron serves as Municipal Court Judge in Carthage, Missouri where he also resides. This gives him the opportunity to utilize his legal training while at the same time using his social work training to identify those defendants who could profit from therapeutic intervention rather than just punishment.
