Mark your calendars for a performance of some of the best new and traditional wind band music in the repertoire! This concert will feature some of the most talented wind and percussion players in the department, and will have something for everyone.
There are so many contributions that result in the performance we share: composers work alone on creating musical ideas, ensembles spend countless hours of rehearsal studying and rehearsing to bring those ideas to life, soloists spend years in pursuit of excellence, and the audience joins to celebrate the performance, experience a musical journey, and support everyone involved.
This concert will feature Concerto and Aria Competition winner Denton Bodine in Eric Ewazen's epic Concerto for Euphonium and Wind Ensemble, Viet Cuong's innovative concerto for percussion quartet, and a tribute to a beloved pet (and his world-famous cellist human)- all of these creations, talents, and efforts converge on the Bicknell stage on 4/27, we'll see you there!
