Choong Lee is a University Professor of Management and has been a faculty member at Pittsburg State University since 1989. He teaches courses in Operations Management, Production Planning and Control, Business Statistics, and Quantitative Methods courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has a B.S. from Seoul National University, Korea, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
Lee is actively involved in research and has published and presented numerous articles and papers at conferences and in such journals as Computers & Operations Research, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, INFOR, The International Journal of Management, and the International Journal of Information and Management Sciences. His research has focused mostly on manufacturing and operations strategies, TQM/JIT, production planning/inventory control, location-production-distribution system modeling and analysis, and international operations management.
He is affiliated with several professional societies including INFORMS, Decision Science Institute, American Production and Inventory Control Society, Institute of Industrial Engineers, Production and Operations Management Society, Pan-Pacific Business Association, and the Academy of Management. In 1991 and 1994, Lee received the "Excellence in Research Award" for the Kelce School of Business at Pittsburg State University.
