Lark Quartet to perform at PSU

The Pittsburg State University 2014-15 Solo and Chamber Music Series continues at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, with a concert by the Lark Quartet. The concert will take place in the Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall in PSU’s McCray Hall.

The quartet, comprised of violinists Deborah Buck and Basia Danilow, violist Kathryn Lockwood, and cellist Caroline Stinson, formed in 1985 and since has performed in some of the top performance halls in the U.S. and around the world.

The quartet’s varied programs take listeners from western tradition through recent music from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. The quartet has recorded more than a dozen CDs, with the most recent being “Composing America,” released on Bridge Records in February 2014.

Concert tickets are $12 for the general public and $8 for persons over 65 or under 18. Tickets are available in advance through the University Ticket Office, 1701 S. Homer, 620-235-7196, www.pittstate.edu/tickets, or at the door prior to the performance. Full-time PSU students are entitled to a free ticket.

The Solo and Chamber Music Series is supported by major funding from the PSU Student Government Association
