Ceremony opens Bicknell Family Center for the Arts

Decades of waiting will be over on Sunday, Dec. 7, when Pittsburg State University officially opens the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. The university has invited the community to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., which will be followed by tours of the new building.

Joining PSU President Steve Scott for the ceremony will be Gene Bicknell, Regent Kenny Wilk, SGA President Jordan Schaper and Bicknell Center Director Joe Firman.

The University Choir, under the direction of Susan Marchant, will give the first performance in the Linda and Lee Scott Performance Hall. They will sing “Let the River Run,” the same song they sang at the groundbreaking for the building.
