More than 550 expected at College of Technology Open House

The halls of the Pittsburg State Kansas Technology Center will be busier than usual on Friday.

More than 550 high school students from across the four-state region will visit the KTC on Oct. 3 for the annual College of Technology Open House event. Students will tour the KTC and get a first-hand look at what the Pitt State College of Technology has to offer.

“This is a very exciting day for Pittsburg State University and the College of Technology,” said Bruce Dallman, dean of the COT. “The open house event allows us to show prospective students our state-of-the-art facility and the excellent programs we offer. It also gives students the opportunity to ask us any questions they may have about our college.”

Along with touring the KTC, students will participate in lab demonstrations in the various programs, which include Automotive Technology, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Graphics and Imaging Technologies, and Technology and Workforce Learning.

Tours of the KTC will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Lab demonstrations will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
