PSU on Best in the Midwest list

U.S. News and World Report released its “2015 Best Colleges” on Tuesday, and once again Pittsburg State University earned the highest ranking among Kansas’ regional universities.

U.S. News included PSU on its list of top tier “Best Regional Universities” in the Midwest, which includes the states of Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Additionally, U.S. News included PSU on its Midwest regional university lists of “Top Public Schools,” “Best Colleges for Veterans,” and Best Online Education Programs.”

To develop its rankings, U.S. News examines factors including undergraduate academic reputation, alumni giving, retention rates, how selective the university’s admissions policies are and financial resources.

Lee Young, associate vice president for enrollment management and student success at PSU, said the university’s rankings are recognition of the dedication across campus to the success of students.

“We are always proud to be recognized by national publications and organizations, but the most rewarding aspect of our work is the success of our students,” Young said. “And we see that happening every day.”
