President offers sympathy to families of accident victims

Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott issued the following statement upon learning of the death of PSU student Justin Ramirez. Ramirez, a 21-year-old native of Parsons, Kan., died as a result of a two-vehicle accident Friday night just south of Belleview road in Cherokee County. The accident also took the life of Pittsburg resident Kenneth Orender.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those involved in Friday's accident. I extend my deepest sympathies to Justin’s and Mr. Orender's family and friends and offer condolences on behalf of the entire Pittsburg State University community."

Ramirez was in his senior year and majoring in engineering technology.
