Organizers prep for Gorilla Dash

Organizers say Saturday’s Gorilla Dash will test every competitor’s limits.

This is the third year for the event, sponsored by PSU ROTC, at a specially designed course across the railroad tracks east of the Bicknell Sports Complex. The race begins at 8 a.m. and competition continues until 6 p.m.

“This year’s proceeds will go towards our SFC Robertson Scholarship Fund,” said Jon Fatkin, a senior in PSU ROTC. “He was a beloved member of our staff and a former PSU student who was killed in Afghanistan recently. He will truly be missed.”

The 5k Gorilla Dash course includes at least 10 obstacles. Participants compete individually or in teams of 5-7. Runners and teams fall into one of three divisions: male, female or coed. All participants must be at least 16 years old.

Registration is $20 prior to April 11 and $30 on the day of the race.
