Gorilla Dash helps fund scholarship

The weather was nearly perfect and a great group of campus and community competitors turned out for the third annual Gorilla Dash on April 12. And the best thing about the event, organizers said, was that it raised a lot of money for an important cause.

John Fatkin, one of the Gorilla Dash organizers, said more than 150 people ran the challenging obstacle course and PSU ROTC raised more than $2,000 for the SFC Robertson Scholarship Fund.

“We were very pleased with the turnout and how the day went,” Fatkin said. “It is especially nice that we will be able to contribute to a scholarship that honors someone who was so special to us.”

The scholarship honors SFC Forrest Robertson, a former PSU Military Science instructor and alumnus who was killed in Afghanistan in November 2013.
