Pittsburg State University will hold two commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 13, in John Lance Arena. Students from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Kelce College of Business will graduate at 5 p.m. Students from the College of Education and the College of Technology will graduate at 8 p.m.
According to the PSU Registrar, 539 students are eligible to participate in winter commencement.
The two ceremonies will be broadcast live for those unable to attend. The live feed will begin a few minutes before each ceremony is scheduled to begin and can be viewed on any computer with Adobe Flash.
The weather forecast for commencement evening includes rain and temperatures near freezing, so safety precautions are encouraged for everyone planning to attend the ceremony.
"We'd obviously prefer sunshine and warm temperatures for a day like this, but that's not always possible in December," said Bill Ivy, associate vice president of enrollment management and student success. "We strongly encourage everyone to be cautious and drive safely on their way to commencement. And, of course, we urge those who cannot attend to watch the live online broadcast."
Traffic, parking and weather updates will be posted throughout Commencement evening on Twitter at www.twitter.com/gorillagameday.
