Students are our top priority so scholarships must be a top priority. Many students have the desire to attend college, but they don't have the financial means. Scholarships make it possible for many students to earn a college degree and realize their professional dreams. Scholarships also make it possible for Pittsburg State to recruit more students in a very competitive higher education marketplace.

Our tuition rate is a great value, especially when you consider that we offer flat-rate tuition pricing which allows full-time students to take additional hours with no increased costs. View our current tuition rates.

Thanks to our loyal alumni and friends, in FY 2021, Pittsburg State awarded more than $3 million in private scholarships. Although this is impressive compared to many state universities our size, we need to increase scholarship support if we are going to reach more students who struggle to pay for a higher education.

Goals

Through private gifts to the Pittsburg State University Foundation, Inc., Pittsburg State seeks to:

• Ensure students continue to have access to quality education by increasing the overall scholarship dollars awarded annually 
• Establish new scholarships that will enable Pitt State to compete with peer institutions for high-achieving students
• Increase the number of scholarships available to entering freshmen, transfer students and other identified groups
