The football game-day experience at Carnie Smith Stadium has long been one of the main fall attractions in Pittsburg area. With the 2013 season just months away, the Pittsburg State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is reaching out to the community to find out how to make the Gorilla football experience even better.
In conjunction with the Pittsburg State MBA Association, the PSU athletics department is conducting a survey aimed at examining the level of satisfaction among fans who attend PSU football games. The results will be used to improve and enhance the game-day experience. Topics addressed in the survey range from ticket purchasing and quality of service to entertainment and condition of facilities.
“We value the opinion of our fans, and we want to create the best game-day environment that we can for them,” said Athletics Director Jim Johnson. “We want the best possible experience for our students, families and alums.”
The MBA Association developed the online survey, which went live on April 1 and will remain available through April 22.
“This is a fun project that allows us to use the information and education we are receiving in the classroom,” said MBA Association President Sonya Bhakta. “We believe in data-driven strategic planning, and we hope to help the department of athletics in finding new ways to enhance the football experience at PSU.”
Earlier this year, the MBA Association conducted a community retail survey in conjunction with the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
“We chose to coordinate with the MBA Association,” Johnson said, “as a way of using the resources and expertise that we have right here on campus. These students are very smart and very talented, and we wanted to use that expertise as part of this project. They’ve done an outstanding job for us.”
Along with Bhakta, MBA students Zach Adams, Yu-Hsuan Chen, Caleb Smith, Kaley Temaat and Louie Weimer developed the survey.
