Students and faculty participating in the Study Abroad Program at Pittsburg State University will be required to have a travel consultation performed prior to traveling. A scheduled appointment is required for this consult. The timing of this appointment should be two to three months before your expected date of departure. This allows time to arrange immunization schedules to be given in a timely manner to be most beneficial to the student. Travel consults are usually scheduled on Friday mornings from 8:00-11:30. Fee for service.
Travel Consults cover:
- Pre-Departure health check-up and immunization recommendations.
- Advice on how to stay healthy during your trip.
- When to seek medical care for post-travel illness.
We will also make every effort to address any special needs or concerns you may have to prepare you health wise for your trip.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (620) 235-4452.
You will be required to bring your completed travel form, immunization records, and a detailed itinerary with the date of departure, destinations and date of return to your scheduled appointment.
- For information regarding immunizations for traveling students, please refer to The Center of Disease Control for Traveler's Health web site for recommendations.
