More than 850 attend Math Relays

More than 850 high school students from the four-state area competed in the 42nd annual Math Relays on Tuesday.

More than 850 high school students from schools across the four-state area will tested their math skills at the 42nd annual Pittsburg State University Math Relays on Tuesday, April 13.

The students competed individually and in teams in areas such as algebraic equations and inequalities, geometry, trigonometry, logic and set theory and algebraic word problems.

Testing will take place in Grubbs and Yates halls and in the Overman Student Center.

Terry Martin, a member of the PSU Math Department faculty and the director of the annual event, called the attendance at this year's Math Relays "tremendous," in light of widespread school district cuts.
