Pittsburg State University will host the first of two ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ events for prospective students on Saturday, Oct. 6. A second Rumble is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3.
Rumble in the Jungle is the largest of several senior visit days scheduled by the Office of Admission each year. High school students, along with parents and siblings, participate. The event begins with a welcome from President Steve Scott and includes an academic showcase, in which students can meet faculty and learn about specific academic programs. They tour campus and eat lunch in Gibson Dining Hall.
“Rumble is a great way for students and their parents to get a feel for the campus, meet the faculty and learn about PSU’s great academic programs,” said Jon Bartlow, associate director of admission. “It also gives them a chance to experience Gorilla football and PSU’s great game-day atmosphere.”
In 2011, the Office of Admission added a second Rumble in the Jungle to meet the growing demand.
