Cole Shewmake


About 

Dr. Cole Shewmake is interim chair and a professor responsible for teaching a variety of pedagogy courses within the Health, Human Performance, and Recreation Department at Pittsburg State University. Prior to coming to PSU, Dr. Shewmake spent six years teaching and eight years coaching in Webb City, Missouri. While in Webb City, he acquired K-12 teaching experience in physical education, health, and weight training classes, along with coaching various sports at the junior high and senior high levels. Dr. Shewmake also spent two years as a graduate assistant in the HHPR Department at the University of Arkansas, teaching undergraduate courses in physical education, as well as various activities courses. 

Dr. Shewmake holds a Bachelor of Physical Education Degree and a Master of Science Degree (Physical Education) from Pittsburg State University. Dr. Shewmake earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology (Pedagogy) from the University of Arkansas. He is a member of SHAPE and KAHPERD.
