Linden Dalecki


About

Dr. Dalecki holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Before moving to Texas to enroll in graduate school, he was an advertising copywriter in Washington, D.C. and Hong Kong, and worked as a freelance naming consultant for Interbrand (New York). Dr. Dalecki's teaching and research interests include Advertising Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, International Marketing, Diffusion of Innovations, and Entertainment Marketing. His journal article Hollywood Media Synergy as IMC (2008) was recently published in Northwestern's Journal of Integrated Marketing Communications. Papers currently under review at Cabell's-listed publications include The Diffusion of Hollywood Sequels and Globally Marketing Authentic Places.

Dr. Dalecki pursues an interest in creative writing and expanded his award-winning short story The B-Boys of Beaumont into a young-adult hip-hop-themed novel titled Kid B (2006). His short documentary Breakin' Away screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner and was expanded into a feature-length documentary titled Inside the Circle (2008), directed by Marcy Garriot. Dr. Dalecki's current screenwriting projects include Crimeland and Machete, both being co-written with Ethan Maniquis on behalf of Austin-based director-producer Robert Rodriguez. Dr. Dalecki enjoys traveling internationally and once made his way from Turkey to Hong Kong using only trains and buses.
