Trombonist to perform free concert Oct. 21

British bass trombonist Jonathan Warburton will perform a free guest recital at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, in the Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall in Pittsburg State University’s McCray Hall.

Warburton is one of England’s most versatile and busiest bass trombonists. Having graduated with a first class honors degree from the UCE Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, Warburton has gone on to perform at the British Trombone Society, the International Trombone Festival and throughout the world.

As a major figure in the bass trombone world, Warburton has commissioned numerous works and many composers have written specifically for him. Warburton is also a composer and his works have been published by Warwick Music of England. His CD, “Moving On,” is available from Warwick Music.
