PITTSBURG, Kan. -- Pittsburg State head women's basketball coach Lane Lord is pleased to announce the signing of Amira Jenkins during the late signing period.
Jenkins is a 6-0 guard from Katy Taylor High School in Houston. In the last two seasons, she helped her team to a 58-17 record and two district titles, while twice earning all-district honors herself. In her senior season, she averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals per game. Jenkins is the daughter of Claude and Tafawn Boyd Stinnie.
"The Pittsburg State coaches and players are extremely excited to have Amira Jenkins join the women's basketball family," Lord said. "Amira is a 6-0 guard that has great athleticism. Her length on the perimeter will help us both on the defensive and offensive ends of the floor. Amira can drive the ball, hit the pull up, and shoot the three."
