The Pittsburg State University SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team earned a championship at regional competition in Rogers, Ark., this week, which qualifies them for the national competition in Kansas City in May 22-24.
“Their continued excellence in these highly competitive events speaks volumes about the quality of students we are honored to teach in the Kelce College of Business,” said College of Business Dean Paul Grimes.
The SIFE competitions include both a written annual report and live audiovisual presentation, through which the teams report the results of the community outreach projects they have conducted. Panels of business leaders serve as judges. The teams are evaluated based on how successful they were at using business concepts to improve the quality of life and standard of living for those in need.
The regional and national competitions are also a valuable networking tool for students who meet business leaders and make valuable career connections in the process.
