Chinese students celebrate Moon Festival

September 13, 2011 12:00AM

The PSU Chinese Culture Club will celebrate the traditional Chinese Moon Festival from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at the United Methodist Campus Ministries building, 201 E. Williams. The event is free and open to the public.

At the event, organizers plan presentations on Chinese culture and will share some traditional Chinese food and gifts. Both American and Chinese students are expected to perform.

The Chinese Moon Festival has been an important autumn celebration in China for more than 3,000 years. Mooncakes, dragon dances and sky lanterns are all associated with this festival.
